[Not a valid template]Injuries and work commitments caught up with the Senior Mens Team on Sunday when the Final of the Woodie’s National League took place at a blustery Tullamore. A campaign which began with much promise and included two wins in the opening rounds fizzled out at the end. A few more athletes could have doubled up, diluting the effort, but it was better to concentrate on performance. Congratulations to Matthew Stockton who topped the performances with a 52.02m pb with the senior 800g javelin to claim our only win.
[Not a valid template]Combined event specialists Brendan McConville and Callum Hunter-Graham did the usual solid job as did Paddy McGrattan and Kenny Elliott in the throws. Middle distance men James Budde and Francis Marsh both had good races, James with a 5 sec pb in the 3000m steeplechase and Francis going well below 16 min in the 5000m. Well done to all the team.
