North Down finished as anticipated on Saturday in 4th place overall at Antrim in the NI Young Athletes League Final. City ofDerrycovered the huge number of events thoroughly to retain theNorthern Irelandtitle and represent the league in the National Finals inManchester. Despite some holes in the boys events,LaganValleymade a good 2nd and Regent House were 3rd. Olympian were 5th, MidUlster6th and Dromore 7th. North Down results are summarised below.
Congratulations to all who took part and it was good that U17 boys and girls and the U13 girls were able to turn relatively large squads out. The Young Athletes League Final has a huge number of events in six age groups and in the UK Finals, as we have found in the recent past, only the biggest English clubs have the numbers to cover them all.
