Katie Hewitt was the star at Mary Peters Track, long jumping 4.95m and breaking Andrea Ramage‘s long-held U15 girls club record. Both U15 boys and girls won their section despite the Schools Districts coming the next day. Kim Shaw prepared by running a very good 26.9 at 200m.
North Down boys remain in top position with 2nd at U13, 1st at U15 and 3rd at U17, scores being tight throughout. Girls were 1st at U15 and 2nd at U17. Despite being abandoned to a fate as a one girl team, Kathryn Colwell was the class of the U13 match, with emphatic wins at 200m and shot.
The round proved to be very competitive despite the current frantic state of competition and several newcomers were introduced to the team. The next round is in Bangor on June 10th.
