On Saturday 26th March the 3rd leg of the Pure Running Half Marathon series took place in Omagh. On a course which was undulating throughout and in wet, blustery conditions some great times were posted by North Down athletes.
First in was Eamonn O’Reilly in a time of 1:27:28 which claimed a spot inside the top 100 in the 1500 record field. Les Wilkinson arrived at the finish line 25 seconds later in 1:27:53 indicating a return to form on a difficult day. Colin Walker was next in comfortably inside the 90 minute barrier with 1:29:08 followed by Philip Mulligan in 1:35:45, just a matter of seconds slower than last weeks’ Larne result.
Roberta Dornan was first female recording 1:46:31 followed by Helen Wyse in 1:51:02 and Clare Russell in 2:03:13 with Pat O’Driscoll bettering last weeks’ time with 2:36:50.
