The very versatile Stephen Wylie is in a run of blistering form with recent podium success at the Les Jones 10K and some strong track performances and he had an excellent win on Saturday in serious trail running territory. The Chain Reaction Belfast Hills 10K was promoted by North Belfast Harriers for the 2nd year in Cavehill Country Park though the course had to be revised to 8K because of a recent landslide.
On a fast, twisty course on paths and trails, Stephen burst clear from Mark McKinstry of NBH and a chasing group but at the highest point of the course, it was a two man race. On the fast downhill finish, Stephen showed his pace, stretching his lead to win in 31:42 min with Mark McKinstry 2nd and Neil Carty 3rd.
