Craig Leads Mens Team at NW Championships

[Not a valid template]On Saturday,  City of Derry AC  hosted the North West XC  Championships  at Gransha Grounds with the Senior, Masters and Under 20 Open 6k competitors all running the same 6K course. There is no stopping Craig McMeechan these days and he exceded his already impressive recent achievements by leading in the North Down Senior Mens Team to 5^th place. Craig was 14^th overall and was joined in the scoring team by Dennis Scott in 16^th, Francis Marsh 23^rd and 1^st M45, and fellow Junior Corey Brown in 68^th. Terry Eakin and John McGarvey  scored an extra League point with Terry 1^st M65.  Rachel Gibson and Katie Moore were the only North Down girls and ran well in a strong field finishing 4^th and 7^th ladies. Katie was the 1^st Junior, fully justifying her U23 call up for the Celtic International next month. Before the 6k race, there were U13/15/17 age group races with the Scott sisters Jessica and Anna running very well to place 4th and 7th girls (22nd & 28th overall) in the U15 race.
