Amy ran the first heat of the 200m in 24.40 sec (0.00) to finish 4th and qualify as the first fastest loser for her second semi final of the European Junior Championships. With the first three plus the next four qualifying, she was eleventh going into the semis. French girl Emilie Gaydu had the fastest overall time in 23.53 sec with English Schools Champion Hayley Jones next in 23.57, both in Amy”s heat which was obviously the fastest. In the semi final Amy ran 24.32 sec (-1.6) into a headwind to finish sixth, outside the qualifiers. This result left Amy in 10th position for the Championship. The impressive Hayley Jones went on to win the final in 23.37 sec (-0.2).
