North Belfast hosted another successful afternoon of racing at the Mary Peter’s track on Saturday with all the races of 5K in distance. There were six male races and two female which attracted athletes from Ireland and mainland UK.
Five runners from North Down took part in the twelve and a half lap exercise seeking fast times and pb’s. Running the parkrun or a local 5k road race doesn’t really equate with the exposure and honesty of the track – no hiding place. And the MP track on Saturday was bathed in sunshine but still had the chilly wind that blew up the homestraight relentlessly for the duration of the race.
