This years’ British Universities and College Sports track and field championships took place at the Bedford International stadium between 30th April and 2nd May.
Multi eventer Sarah Connolly, representing Brunel took part in the High Jump and the 100M hurdles. Sarah made 4th in the 100M hurdles heat and then finished 8th overall in the High Jump.
Queens Universities’ Kathy Hetherington also finished 8th this time in the Discus final after qualifying with a 5th position in the heat. Fellow Queens student Andrew Mellon and Adam McComb from Ulster University contested the 8th heat of the 400M, Andrew winning the heat with Adam 2nd. In the semi final Adam unfortunately finished 5th and failed to qualify for the final while Andrew claimed 2nd spot in his semi. In the final he ran 48:36 to finish 6th, undoubtedly frustrated that his semi qualifying time of 47:48 would have earned him 2nd in the final.
