Jeremy Harper (University of Ulster) had two more medals when he competed in the British Universities Championships at Bedford during the May Day weekend. Jeremy was 2nd in the discus with 47.70m. a pb and yet another club record, and he was 3rd at shot with 13.32m. Tom Reynolds had a pb and brother Luke a good time in the 110m hurdles though neither qualified from the heats. Luke (Cardiff) ran 15.10 secs while Tom (Brunel) took the family bragging rights with 15.02 sec, though Luke had previously run 14.94 sec at a Team Bath meeting on 28th April. Tom was also 7th at pole vault with 4.00m and14th at high jump with 1.75m. Richard Lockhart (Sheffield Hallam) was 7th at hammer with 41.29m and John Saulters (Queens) ran 51.07 secs in the 400m heats but was eliminated at the semi final stage.
