From midday on Saturday until the same time on Sunday Victoria Park, Belfast hosted this years’ endurance event. Sean Nickell and Cara Hamilton represented North Down at the event and at various stages throughout the 24 hours other club members attended to support them.
Sean Nickell was 22nd in the 24 hr race completing 106 laps and 108.9 miles. Cara Hamilton, also running the 24 hr race, completed 65 laps giving her 66.8 miles.
While all the support from fellow club members was very much appreciated special mention must go to Helan Wyse who spent the night at Victoria Pk providing support and a bit of humour to the proceedings.
Well done to both of our athletes on such magnificent achievements. On their next venture to the Victoria Pk parkrun they will find it hard to stop after 3 laps!
