In the Norwich Union World Trials and UK Championships at Manchester on the third day, Eva Massey twice broke her own Northern Ireland shot record, first with 16.62m and then 16.63m. Though she remains second in the UK rankings behind Jo Duncan, Eva"s win at Manchester provided a more impressive backdrop than her comparitavely low key putt earlier this season. Brendan McConville was 6th in the pole vault on Day 2 (Saturday) with 4.70m, failing at the next height at 4.91m. Luke Reynolds was 6th in his heat at 110m hurdles with 15.01 sec while in the 400m heats on Friday Tom Patton was 5th in 54.37 sec.
