[Not a valid template][Not a valid template]Julie Balmer had a superb run on Sunday at the Virgin London Marathon with a time of 2:57.50 hrs, a time which was an agonising 4 secs short of her pb and club record which she got in Dublin last year. It was far from doom and gloom in the Balmer household as Julie’s other half David Balmer ran a pb of 4:01.50 hrs, over 3 minutes faster than he ran in the same race last year. Also just over 4 hrs, Lynne Kerr had a good run with 4:03.08 hrs and Angela Fawthrop ran 4:13.55. As a UKA member club, North Down had two entries to the London Marathon and a draw for these was won last December by Michael Jenkins and Pat O’Driscoll. Michael came in at 3:43.58 min and Pat at 6:06.19 min.
