Laganside 10K

 

North Down had 16 or so runners in the first major 10K road race  of the Autumn season on Sunday in the Laganside 10K.  Darren McKee led the contingent home in 36:51 min in 29^th with Mark Weir 34^th in 37:14 mn and Douglas Grant 41st in 38:01. The ladies team, looking good for a win in the team prize, put up a strong performance with 5 in the first 11, most of them straight out of track training.  Julie Balmer was 2^nd in 38:08, Roberta Dornan 6^th in 39:40, Debbie Matchett 7^th in 40:47, Jessica Craig 10^th in 41:18 and Francesca Brown (non-scoring as yet) 11^th in 42:38.  Category winners were Terry Eakin at M60, Debbie at F45 and Francesca at under 18.  Overall winners were Stephen Scullion and Breege Connolly, both North Belfast
