There were big fields at both Victoria Park and Belfast Waterworks on Saturday morning with North Down girls taking the womens’ race at both venues. Debbie Matchett won at the Waterworks in 20:14 min and Roberta Dornan won at Victoria Park in 19:15 min. It was particularly pleasing to see Roberta return to form as she has had a miserable few months of injuries, illness and other stresses. As well as Roberta, several other North Down runners turned out at Victoria Park including several from the bus pass brigade. . Terry Eakin ran 18:51, Nicklas Arkensparr (first time at a ParkRun), ran19:46, Andrew Muir 20:18, Brian Smith 21:22, Michael Roberts 21:36, Alison Downey 23:28, Marie Devine 23:30, Kathy Graham 24:48, Ken Hawtin 26:04, Janet Toal 27:27 and Pat O’Driscoll 34:14. Andrew, Brian and Ken all had ParkRun pb’s.
The fourth Belfast ParkRun will open later this month at Falls Park.
