PB for Dennis at Paddys Day 10K

The first major 10K road race took place in Downpatrick on St Patrick’s Day when the host East Down club hosted Jimmy;s Ten, named after founder Jimmy Murray. In a strong field of nearly 700, overall winners were Eddie McGinley of Annadale and Gladys Daniel-O’Neill of North Belfast.  North Down were led home by in-form Dennis Scott who was 9th overall in a 10K pb of 34:30 min (chip). James Budde has battled injury and sickness most of the winter but has patiently been rebuilding fitness and ran 35:38. Best of the girls was evergreen Julie Balmer who was 3rd lady in 339:07. There was a category prize for another in-form  runner Gerry Coy who was 2nd M50
