Sportsplex closed for training 5th-9th Aug

Bangor Sportsplex and Bangor Aurora Complex will host the Toughest Competitor Alive (TCA) Competition, an important part of the World Police and Fire Games, duing the week of 5th Aug to 9th August. Consequenntly there will be no training at the Sportsplex during this period. North Down AC coaches will have made alternative arrangements at various venues during this period. Any athlete unsure of these venues should contact the individual coach.

Toughest Competitor Alive

Venue: Bangor Sportsplex & Bangor Aurora Complex

Monday, 5 August 2013 – Thursday 8th August 2013

TCA is multi-discipline event consisting of 8 phases which have to be completed within one day’s competition. The event is spread over 4 days to accommodate different age categories.
Phases of the event are as follows:

1) 5k Run
2) Shot Putt
3) 100m Dash
4) 100m Swim
5) 20ft Rope Climb
6) Bench Press
7) Pull Ups
8) Obstacle Course

The event will take place at two separate venues. Athletes competing in the 5k, Shot Put 100m Dash and Obstacle Course will compete at Bangor Sportsplex.
Athletes competing in 100m Swim, Rope Climb, Bench Press and Pull Ups will compete at the Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure complex.

This event is open to the public and entry is free. Access will be on a first come, first served basis.
