Stephen on the Les Jones Podium

There was a good turnout on a warm Friday evening for Les Jones 10K, a tough, hilly,  mixed terrain course along the Lagan towpath and Barnetts Park from Mary Peters Track. There were 17 runners from North Down with a great 3^rd place from Stephen Wylie behind Brendan Teer and Paul Rowan. Nick Irvine and Ben Caughers were next from North Down in 32^nd  and 41^st men while the top girls were Catherine Roberts, Valerie McDonough and Helen Ryan who were 11^th, 13^th and 22^nd on the ladies race. All these athletes are highly placed in the North Down Grand Prix of which the Les Jones race was Round 8. Nick and Catherine are still the leaders and extended their lead but late starter Stephen is rising fast. (picture courtesy of Mark Ramsey)
