Thursday night saw the annual end of the track season awards night at Bangor Sportsplex.. The club track and field trophies were on display and presented by Chairman Paddy McGrattan to the various age-category recipients. Also the five Weglarz Trophies covering club support and improvement were presented.. It was decided that athletes from the Fundamentals Group should have their own awards and the existing Primary Awarsds should go to athletes of Primary School age who were eligible to compete at U13 level. The overall Athletes of the Year for the 2013 season were Peter Glass and Kathy Hetherington.
Once again we have several club stalwarts heading off to Uni and best wishes go with them. Most track athletes are now on their break until October while middle distance ones are already on winter training usually in the Castle or Ward Parks on Tuesdays and Thursdays as long as the light holds. Athletes in doubt should contact their coach.
